My name is Hasituya, I am 56 years old. I live in a village with my husband about 60 miles from Dabanyu. He used to be a doctor in the nearby hospital and he is now retired. I have been taking micro-finance loans for 10 years. Back then the days were hard and we were relying upon our farmlands to earn our keep.
Due to our village being geographically isolated, it is really inconvenient to travel to the nearby city. Our villagers need to travel to the city to seek medical attention. The journey usually relies upon horse drawn carts, sometimes we might have to walk that distance too. This is a really inefficient use of time and energy.
In response to the needs of the villagers, after my husband retired, he has been making house calls around the village, easing the need for our villagers spending time to make the long journey to the city hospital. This has been a source of income for us.
Now our family is relying upon dairy cows to generate income. Every year we have been utilizing microloans to buy feed for our herd. Over the years our herd has grown and our income has also increased.
Unfortunately this past winter, due to the heavy blizzards, feed prices went up exponentially. Buying feed for our herd has been a source of heavy economic burden. As such I would like to submit a microloan request of 4,000 yuan to buy feed for my dairy herd.
I have been a longtime borrower of microloans. In these past years, with the help of microloans, our living conditions have improved a lot. In 2009 and in the beginning of this year, the snowstorms brought great hardship to us villagers. In March of this year, with the help of another microloan, I was able to purchase grass feed for livestock and weather this difficultly. Now my family and I are busy with our farmlands.
